# Deal statuses

> Track where your transactions stand with deal statuses — from pre-contract through closing.

Every deal has a status that reflects where it is in the transaction lifecycle.

## Available statuses

| Status             | What it means                                                                        |
| ------------------ | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| **Pre-Contract** | The deal is in progress but no contract has been executed yet. All deals start here. |
| **Under Contract** | A contract has been signed. The transaction is active with deadlines to track. |
| **Closed** | The transaction has closed successfully. |
| **Archived** | The deal is complete and stored for your records. |
| **Canceled** | The transaction fell through or was terminated. |

2. Select the new status

### From Homie chat

Ask Homie directly:

* *"Mark this deal as under contract"*
* *"Close this deal"*
* *"Cancel the transaction"*

## What happens when you change status

Status changes can trigger side effects:

* **Pre-Contract → Under Contract** — If the deal is a listing with SkySlope connected, you'll be guided through the listing-to-sale conversion flow
* **Any status → Closed** — The closing date is recorded
* **Any status → Canceled** — Pending calendar events are canceled automatically
* **Any status → Archived** — The deal moves out of your active view

## Status on the dashboard

The status filter on your dashboard lets you quickly find deals by their stage:

* **Active** shows Pre-Contract and Under Contract deals
* Each individual status is also available as a filter
* **All** shows everything including archived and canceled deals

<Tip>
  Use the Archived status for completed deals you want to keep for records. Use Canceled for deals that fell through. This keeps your dashboard clean while preserving history.
