# Sending for signatures

> Send documents for e-signature via DocuSign directly from Oun.

Oun integrates with DocuSign to let you send documents for electronic signatures without leaving the platform.

## How to send for signatures

### Using Homie

From **email or the deal's Homie chat**, ask Homie to send a document for signatures:

* *"Send the listing packet for signatures to my clients"*
* *"Send the purchase agreement for signatures"*
* *"Get the buyer and seller to sign the contract"*

Homie will ask for recipient details if they're not already in your deal data.

<Warning>
  Homie will always ask for confirmation before sending documents for signing.
</Warning>

<Note>
  Homie will default to sending all requested documents for signatures in a single envelope unless otherwise directed.
</Note>

### From the PDF editor

1. Open the document in the PDF editor
2. Make sure all fields are assigned to the right parties
3. Click **Send for Signatures**
4. Review and confirm
5. Click **Send**

Recipients receive an email from DocuSign with a link to sign.

<Note>
  Homie will assign signature, signature date, and initial fields for your clients when drafting forms.
</Note>

### From the documents page

1. Open any deal and navigate to the documents view page
2. **Select one or more documents** by hovering your mouse on the left-hand side of the document rows
3. Click **Send for Signatures** that will appear at the bottom of your screen
4. Review and confirm
5. Click **Send**

This is useful for sending multiple documents in a single envelope.

## Placing signature fields

For uploaded documents, you may need to place signature fields manually:

1. Open the document in the **PDF editor**
2. Click on the **add signature fields** button
3. Draw signature fields where signers need to sign
4. Assign each field to a role (buyer, seller, etc.)
5. Click **Save** — signature field placements are not saved automatically

Documents drafted by Homie come with signature fields pre-placed.

## What recipients see

Recipients get an email from DocuSign that includes:

* A link to review and sign the document
* Instructions for completing their signature
* The ability to sign from any device (computer, phone, or tablet)

## After sending

Once sent, the document is **locked** in Oun — you can't edit fields until the signature process completes or is voided.

You can track the status of each recipient on the document page. See [Tracking signature status](/documents/tracking-signature-status) for details.
