A deal in Oun represents a single real estate transaction — a sale, lease, or other agreement. Everything lives inside a deal: documents, contacts, dates, and your conversations with Homie.

From the dashboard

  1. Click New Deal in the top right of your deals dashboard
  2. Fill in the required fields:
    • Transaction name — usually the property address or a short description
    • Transaction type — Purchase, Listing for Sale, Lease, Listing for Lease, or Other
    • Deal status — where the deal currently stands (Pre-Contract, Under Contract, etc.)
  3. Optionally assign:
    • Transaction coordinator — assign a TC from your team
    • Checklist — attach a checklist to the deal
    • Agent — admins and TCs select which agent the deal is for
  4. Click Create Deal
You’ll land on the documents page for your new deal, ready to add documents.

Linking to an existing SkySlope transaction

If you have SkySlope connected, you’ll see an additional option on the create deal form:
  1. Under SkySlope integration, choose Link existing transaction
  2. Search by address
  3. Select the matching SkySlope sale or listing
  4. Deal data is pre-filled from SkySlope

Creating a new SkySlope transaction at the same time

If you want to create both an Oun deal and a SkySlope transaction in one go:
  1. Under SkySlope integration, choose Create in SkySlope
  2. The form expands into a guided flow:
    • SkySlope details — select your office and checklist type
    • Property address — street, city, state, zip
    • Transaction details — price, dates, and MLS number (fields vary by deal type)
  3. Click Create Deal — Oun creates the deal and the SkySlope transaction together, already linked
If you don’t use SkySlope, the create deal form is a single step — just fill in the basics and go.

By emailing Homie

You can create a new deal by sending an email to homie@oun.homes. This is especially useful when you’re on the go and want to get a deal started without logging into the dashboard. Required steps:
  1. Draft an email to Homie
  2. Include the following information:
    • Command to start a new deal (e.g., “create a new deal”, “new deal for”, etc.)
    • Transaction type — Purchase, Listing for Sale, Lease, Listing for Lease, or Other
    • Transaction name — usually the property address or a short description (e.g., Mary Jane Purchase)
  3. Send the email to homie@oun.homes
Homie can automatically name your transaction if either the property address or the name of your clients are present. However, you can tell Homie to name the deal however you want.
Best practices:
  1. Write the transaction name in the subject line and keep it there as you progress through the deal
  2. Stick to 1 email chain, 1 deal.
  3. For maximum productivity, include the key anchor facts about the deal in your new deal email (e.g., client’s name and contact info, property address, etc.)
Example (purchase):

Subject: John Doe Purchase

Body: Create a new purchase deal. Add the following information to my deal file:Buyer 1 Information > Name: John Doe, Email: j_doe@aol.comBuyer 2 Information > Name: Jane Doe, Email: jane_doe@aol.comBest,[Name]
Example (listing):

Subject: Max Second Listing

Body:Create a new listing deal for 123 Main Street, Baltimore, MD, 12342Seller 1 Information > Name: Max Second, Email: m-second@hotmail.comSeller 2 Information > Name: Linda Smith, Email: linda.smith@yahoo.comPlease add the information to my deal file.Best,[Name]
Deals created via email are not automatically linked to SkySlope. To link, open the deal in Oun and use the SkySlope section on the deal data page. See Linking deals to SkySlope.
Each deal is independent. Documents, data, and chat history belong to a single deal and don’t cross over between transactions.
