Using Homie to fill fields
From email or the deal’s Homie chat, ask Homie to draft documents or edit fields without opening the editor:- “Draft a purchase agreement. Price is $540k, 10% down payment, rest is financed via a conventional loan at 5.75% for 30 years”
- “Draft a listing packet for this deal based on my deal data”
- “Set the buyer name on the purchase agreement to Jane Smith”
- “Update the closing date to April 30 on the contract”
- “Fill in the earnest money as $5,000”
Using the editor
From your deal’s documents page, click on any document to open it in the PDF editor.Filling fields
The editor detects fillable fields in your documents — text boxes, checkboxes, radio buttons, and more.- Click on any field to select it
- Type or click on the field to select it
- Click Save to preserve your changes

Autofill from deal data
Use the Autofill button to populate as many fields as possible automatically. Autofill pulls from your deal data, looks up public property records and county data, applies your document preferences, and fills in standard market defaults for your state. It’s designed to get your document as complete as possible in one step — then you review and adjust.Homie will not edit documents that were uploaded, signed, or are awaiting signatures.
Editing uploaded documents
For uploaded documents, the editor includes tools for annotating documents, including:Markup tools
- Strikethrough — draw lines through text to indicate deletions
- Text box — add typed text anywhere on the page (great for filling blanks on uploaded forms)

Redaction
Homie’s auto-redaction tool Homie will scan and redact sensitive information from uploaded documents, including:- Individual or entity identification data
- Social Security Numbers (SSNs)
- Individual Taxpayer Identification Numbers (ITINs)
- License numbers
- Employer Identification Numbers (EINs)
- Passport numbers
- Financial data
- Bank account or routing numbers
- Brokerage account numbers
- Retirement account numbers
- Credit card numbers
- Go to the deal’s document page
- Select any uploaded document
- Click on the auto-redact button on the top right
- Save — redactions are applied permanently
- Click Add Redaction in the toolbar
- Choose black or white redaction
- Draw rectangles over the areas to redact
- Save — redactions are applied permanently

Can I undo changes?
Yes. You can ask Homie to undo the change or do it manually via the PDF editor. If you haven’t saved yet, you can close without saving to discard changes.Note: Redactions that have been saved cannot be undone.

If a document has been sent for signatures, it’s locked until the signature process completes or is voided. See Tracking signature status.

Yes. When you fill document fields, Homie syncs the values back to your deal data in the background. This takes about 30-40 seconds.
